MBK Apparel Co. Mission Statement My name is Ben Blankenship. My addictions started at the age of 10. For 27 years, I lived a life believing addiction was normal… holding onto the very things that were destroying me—because I didn’t know there was another way. After over 50 arrests, multiple jail stays, and two state prison sentences… it wasn’t until my third—my final 5-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice—that everything changed. My sister… being her Brother’s Keeper… sent me a book and reading that night in my prison bunk would forever change my life. In that moment, I took a hard, honest look at myself—and realized something I had never fully accepted before: I was the problem. And if I was the problem… I could become the solution. That night, I made a promise to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ—that I would never touch drugs or alcohol again for the rest of my life. Since June 2nd, 2018… I have kept that promise. Today, my life is dedicated to helping others FIND their way out, BUILD a new life, and RESTORE the relationships that addiction tried to destroy—just like my sister and I continue to do, day in and day out. What MBK Apparel Co. Means MBK stands for My Brother’s Keeper. It's more than apparel. It is a movement. It is a community. It is us! We are people who have lived in the fire… walked through the darkness… and made the decision to KEEP GOING. We SHOW UP for each other. We SPEAK UP so others don’t suffer in silence. We WALK alongside one another through recovery, through life, and all the struggles in between. Because no one makes it alone. We are not perfect—but we are PRESENT.
